Last week we said goodbye to a dear member of our family. Shaun's first love, his baby, fondly referred to as The Black Stallion! Now before I get any hate comments about going behind my husband's back and selling his beloved truck while he is deployed, Shaun was fully aware and supported this transaction. Plus in the long run he sort of wins, as when he returns he and I will go car shopping for another vehicle for him!
I hate to admit this but the day before when I was making sure there was nothing left in the vehicle, I got a little choked up abut saying goodbye to the Black Stall. Though I hated to drive the Black Stall, as I thought it was too big, and I got an upper body workout every time I got into the truck (but maybe I needed that...), that truck held a lot of memories for Shaun and I. It was the truck that picked me up for our first date, that I then sequentially got us involved in two minor police confrontations, (we're all fine, and no one really got into any trouble), and it the only vehicle I have ever associated with my husband. I might even miss those Philadelphia Sports stickers but only for the reason that I could identify that it was his truck if I ever passed him on post. So as the songs goes...So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!
Hugs,
Caroline
