This morning I went and tried Yoga for basically the first time! I think back during my freshman year of college, I tried a class once, and I just couldn't get past the names of the poses. Yeah, I was a little immature then. Okay who am I kidding, I still get fits of giggles at inappropriate times! Mostly now at military things, but oh well, that is just who I am! But any who I digress, but let me tell you that this yoga is not for the birds! The instructor was great and encouraged everyone to go at their own pace, and to do whatever felt the most comfortable. For me that involved a lot of child pose and stretching, but I have to say that I love the calmness and breathing part of yoga. I felt very relaxed at the end, and I am glad I gave it a try.
Yesterday, I had to venture up to the land that is Mary (Maryland!) for a doctor's appointment at Walter Reed Medical Center at Bethesda. I still remember when it was just good old Bethesda Naval Hospital! I must be getting old! I ended up in the waiting room with two Naval Midshipmen from the US Naval Academy. They were waiting for two more of their classmates who were being seen. Well during this time, a nice Navy Captain stopped by and offered them a ride back to the Academy. They politely declined and said that they would just take the shuttle back, and that they should also wait for their buddies. From what I know about the service academies, including the Naval Academy is that they run a pretty tight ship! (Get it!) So I am sure when Midshipmen are on a pass from school for the day, that they are in no hurry to get back to class, duties and responsibilities. College kids are the same anywhere, if you are excused from class, they take full advantage of it. That Navy Captain couldn't have been that old to have forgotten about the good old days of college!
Super Bowl Weekend is upon us! I am not the biggest football fan out there, (though I ended up married to one!) I do enjoy the big game, mainly for the commercials and all the yummy foods! Can you blame a girl? Who doesn't look forward to the one day a year that you can eat delicious snack foods, call it dinner, and it is socially acceptable? I hope everyone gets their fill of their favorite snack foods, and has a very Happy Super Bowl!
Hugs,
Caroline
