Weekend Recap: Stomp Out Hunger, German, & Baseball!

Hello Monday!!! It's a wet and dreary day here today, but oh well! At least I had a fun weekend to reminisce about! This weekend was jammed packed. I started out the weekend by attending the Arlington Food Assistance Center: Stomp Out Hunger fundraiser on Friday night. One of my dear friends. Katie, is a member of their Young Professionals Group, and I was more than happy to attend with some other friends.

Eric, Jesci and I took the metro to Arlington to Cafe Asia where the event was being held. And no metro ride is ever complete without a photoshoot...enjoy Eric's selfies!

They had drinks, appetizers, raffles, a silent auction, a band, and dancing. We didn't end up getting home till 1:45, but it was all for a good cause!

I didn't end up getting a picture with Katie, or even a few of our other friends that made it out that night for this awesome cause. Next time!  One of the best parts of the night was the band! The band. Ford White Bronco was a 90's cover band, and they were AWESOME!

Seriously, this band was so good! I knew every single song that they played, and who doesn't love 90's music! I mean they played everything from boy bands (come on now, you all know N*Sync and Backstreet Boys ruled in the late 90's) to Hootie and the Blowfish, to The Cardigans and even Sir Mix A Lot! I want them to come and play at my birthday!  I had kind of forgotten how great 90's music is! They even had a little dance competition that yours truly won! I brought back the sprinkler, the shopping cart, and even got to play the tambourine!  All night long I had wanted to play the tambourine, and then my dreams came true!  Also winning the dance competition to Will Smith's, Getting Jiggy with It, isn't too bad either for a Friday night! There is a video, and I might be persuaded to post it! :)

Saturday was also a busy day! I went to the Daughter's of American Revolution Bazaar,  took a nap, and then headed out to Herndon with the family for German food. My brother and sister-in-law were in town, and so we thought it would be fun for Anne to have some German food. We went to the Euro Bistro, and it was really good! Check them out if you are ever in the Fairfax County area and craving some yummy German Food!

We ended the evening with some frozen custard, and you know me, mine had to be with rainbow sprinkles!

Sunday was Baseball Day! Anne had never been to a baseball game, and it since it was opening weekend, we headed down to the old ball park!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day at the ball park! Perfect 60's degree weather, great seats on the first baseline only about 11 rows up! Perfect viewing for the President's race and all the other fun entertainment! Oh and of course the game! :)

I think I need a weekend from my weekend! How was your weekend?

Hugs,

Caroline
