Couch, Couch, Sectional?

I went to one of my favorite workout classes this morning, Turbokick! I love it, and I think in most part because of the instructor. It was her last class though, as she is 8 months pregnant, and will be taking maternity leave till this summer. Womp, Womp! Most likely by the time she is back I will be gone and living back in the north country. But at least that means Shaun will be home!

When Shaun and I make our triumphant return to Northern New York, we are going to be moving to the big city! The big city of Watertown that is! While we loved living in Carthage, we couldn't pass up on living in a brand new place! Yes, we are going to be moving into The Preserve at Autumn Ridge!  I am psyched that they have a pool (heated), gym and theater! I see some movie nights in the future. Let me know if you want in, and we can reserve it, and plan a fun movie night.  Our new home also has a lot better layout than our previous townhouse so I am looking forward to being able to entertain more. So be prepared for some invites Northern New York friends, I even already bought some cute plates and napkins! :) Here is the floor-plan of our new home:

With the new home we are planning on buying a new couch or sectional to go in the new place.  I have gone ahead and started looking at different couches, sofas and sectionals online, and oh my word, there are a lot of choices out there!  It is sort of overwhelming. I don't have a lot of requirements for our future sofa, just that it is comfortable, durable, easily moveable, and stylish! Is that too long of a wish list? I sure hope nope, but I am thinking it might be harder to find then I thought.

Also, since this isn't our "forever" home, and we won't be there forever, I want something that would be able to fit into another home. So that is my dilemma between just getting a sofa or a sectional. Shaun and I both want a sectional but we are a little worried about how it might fit into another place. Any thoughts fellow move-around-a-lot people? Or should we just go for what we love?

Here are a few of my favorite sectionals:

Pearce 2-Piece L-Shape Sectional, Performance everydaysuede™ Pewter

Venus II 4 Piece Right Arm Facing Bob-O-Pedic Sleeper Sectional

So anyone have any advice as we embark on sofa sectional shopping? Anyone have any favorite stores, or even places to stay away from?  Let me know!

Hugs,

Caroline

  1. Again, my vote is for the sectional (love all of your choices btw). Also, I just stalked your new neighborhood and it looks super cute! Good luck on your sofa hunt!
