Weekend Recap!

Happy Tuesday!!!!  I know, I know, I am a day late here with my weekend recap! I just couldn't seem to get myself together yesterday, so you get my weekend recap on Tuesday!

Did you all have a great weekend? The weather was beautiful here in the DC metro area, which I guess makes up for the rainy weather we are having today!

On Friday, I made this yummy Cobb Salad for dinner! With the warmer weather, I am on a big salad kick. Also, it was a great way to use up some of the eggs leftover from Easter!

I also made these yummy cookie bars! They actually use a cake mix as the base, and are a cinch to throw together! I made them to take on Sunday evening to an Alpha Phi event. More about that later. Plus, I promise to post the recipe later this week!

On Saturday, my family and I headed up to Baltimore to celebrate my aunt's birthday. My aunt and uncle moved to Baltimore about a year ago and live in the Federal Hill Neighborhood.

The neighborhood is really cute--lots of restaurants and shops right within walking distance of where they live. They also only live two blocks from the inner harbor, and anyone who knows me, knows I love being near water. I could get used to city living, I think! Well I didn't take any pictures of us at the birthday luncheon, which we ate at The Rowhouse Grill (it's yummy, check it out if you are ever in the area) but you do get a picture of some of the cute houses in Federal Hill.

Saturday night I ended up watching the movie Blue Jasmine. Cate Blanchett had been nominated and won the Oscar for best performance by an actress fro her role in this film. I thought she did a great job, but I wasn't a total fan of the movie. Kind of sad and depressing.

Sunday  I headed out with one of my BFF's, Jesci to Micheals craft store, aka, the store where you didn't realize how many craft projects you just need to do. :) Luckily, I was just there for a supportive role as Jesci was picking out supplies for a craft project she is working on. I don't know, but I managed some self-control, and didn't buy a single thing!  The one thing we did realize about Micheals is that nothing is placed in any logical order, so after having spent a good amount of time circling the store, we treated ourselves to lunch at El Paso.

That evening, I headed over to George Mason University to the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi. It was their senior ceremony, and the Northern Virginia Alpha Phi Alumnae chapter had volunteered to help with the ceremony and reception afterwards for the whole chapter. Below is a  goofy picture of the new Alumnae!

It was fun to meet a lot of the sisters, and also made me think back on my college days! Alpha Phi was and continues to be such an important part of my life. I love all the women I got to meet and become friends with while I was in undergrad, and those that I continue to meet and become friends with. And a little CNU, Theta Phi,  Alpha Phi throwback....

Hugs,

Caroline
