Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday! I think if you try to make Monday sound like it is a fun day, it will make it a fun day! Maybe? A girl can dream! I had a great weekend though, so no complaints from me about Monday, and I do have a busy week coming up, so that is always good!

On Friday I made those candy cookie bars again! This time I am sending them to Shaun. He was a little sad to see them on the blog, and realize that he was not getting any! So I felt bad and made some for him. Like I had mentioned before you can really make them your own, so for Shaun's I used funfetti cake mix, because we all know my love of rainbow sprinkles! :) I also used mini chocolate chips, mini reese's peanut butter cups, and mini kit kats!

Friday night my brother and sister-in-law were back in town for the weekend, and they convinced me to go and see SpiderMan 2! It was okay, not my favorite movie, and I think I liked the first one better! Oh well, it was still a fun night out, and there were a lot of movie previews of upcoming movies I want to go and see!

Saturday I met up with two of my favorite ladies, Jesci and Huck, in the Mosaic District in Fairfax for the Taste of Merrifield. The Mosaic District is an awesome new area in Fairfax (it had used to be known as the Merrifield area, hence the name Taste of Merrifield) with fun shops, a cool new movie theater, Angelika, and yummy restaurants. We had a fun time walking around the festival area, trying out yummy foods, listening to the band, and just soaking up the sunshine! It was a BEAUTIFUL day!

Since we were there, we decided to explore the shops! We did a lot of good window shopping and also came across a free wine tasting at a cute new wine shop, Swirl & Sip.  It was free, so we couldn't pass it up! They also do sell beer for all you beer lovers out there!

Since I have been home in the land of restaurants aplenty, I realized that I have not eaten any Indian food, so Saturday we fixed that situation, and went to one of our families favorite Indian restaurants, Jaipur. Seriously if you are in the Fairfax area, and are looking for a good Indian food try out Jaipur!

Sunday was a very special day, as we celebrated my family's church 50th Anniversary!

There are so many reasons why this is such a special occasion for my family! One of the main reasons is that my grandparents were charter members of the church back in 1964. My Omi Ann is now one of three charter members still alive from a group of 130ish members back in 1964. There have also been a lot of important milestones in my family at Providence. My parents, brother, and I were all married here, as well as I was baptized and confirmed in the church. Here are some pictures from today's joyous occassion!

It was a great weekend, and maybe next time I will get a picture of my brother, smiling and with his eyes open! I seem to be able to only get one of those two. At least Anne looks good! :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Hugs,

Caroline
