Shaun and I took advantage of a free Saturday this past weekend, and traveled down South to Cooperstown, New York. In case you are unfamiliar with Cooperstown, it is home to the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Shaun is a major baseball fan, well to be more precise, he is an avid Phillies Fan. Shaun was in heaven touring the museum, and I enjoyed checking out some of the memorabilia from the movie "A League of Their Own" and learning more about the real women who inspired the movie. Come on, you all remember the movie with Tom Hanks, Madonna, and Geena Davis, and the famous quote "There's no crying in baseball!"
| Yes, I also went to the kids clubhouse, and got my picture taken as a ball player! |
Not only is Cooperstown the home of The Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum it is also a cute little town located on Otsego Lake. We had fun checking out gift shops that line the main street, and had an awesome lunch at the Doubleday Cafe! If you have a baseball fan in your life, I would recommend planning a trip to Cooperstown! They will not be disappointed, and I have the 115 photos from the museum to prove it!
*Warning* The next paragraph of the blog deals with death, and may not be for the faint of heart!
On our way home from our fun day trip, my beloved car, Sebastien, (Yes, that is my car's name) came face to face, or more like mirror and side door with a deer. We were only about 25 miles from home, and traveling on one of the main country roads, when a deer darted out. It all happened so fast, and I was unable to stop. Luckily, Shaun and I are fine, Sebastian, will need some repairs, and RIP to the deer.
The sheriff who came out to write up the accident report did ask us if we wanted to take the deer with us. I politely declined. You can take the girl out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the girl!
Anyone else have a fun and exciting weekend?
Hugs,
Caroline
bahahaha glad you, Shaun, and Sebastian are all OK! at least it's just the side mirror! What do you mean you didn't want to take the deer home?! shame :-P
