Who remembers the other week when I wrote a post about care packages?!? Anyone? Well in case you missed it, I will catch you up real quick. My husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and one thing that I love to do when he is gone is send him care packages. There are TONS of different websites, blogs, and Pinterest boards with all kinds of awesome ideas on care packages, and this one is a combination of a bunch of different ideas I have seen, and I like to call it a Box of Love!
But the best part about this Box of Love is that you don't have to have a loved one that is deployed to make it, and in fact it can be for a spouse, significant other, parent, friend or even a child! You can really customize it to who you are making it for. So here we go....
List of Supplies Needed:
Candy (assorted or one kind, it really depends on the person who will be receiving the box on what goodie you choose)
Post-it Notes
Markers
Box or Container for all the love!
Another item you will need to complete your Box of Love project are Post-It Notes. I went to Staples and found these cute little flower Post-It Notes, but really any type of Post-It's would work. The one great thing about these is that the sticky part was across the middle of the flowers, so it stuck perfectly to the KitKats! Just make sure to have enough Post-It's for all your pieces of love.
The last key item you will need is something to write with. I chose to use Sharpies but you could use whatever you would like! Pick the receiver's favorite pen color, pick your favorite pen color, pick anything! I went with the classic Black Sharpie, but be as creative as you like! If you have bad handwriting, or don't like to write, you could even do some cutting and pasting using the computer. Break out those preschool skills with your scissors and glue!
Now the fun part...For each piece of candy you want to write something you love about the person who you are giving it to on a Post-it Note, and then attach it to the piece of candy. What you write is up to you, and you can be as funny or as mushy in love with your love statements as you want to be. I chose to do a combination of both for my sweet hubby's box!
Only three pieces of love left! I started with 110 pieces of candy (but like I said, you can really customize it to how many you want). Full disclosure: My husband only got 109 pieces of love because I had to eat one piece. I mean come on, all that candy in front of me, I had to sample one piece! I wouldn't have wanted to send something that had gone bad...:)
This is the finished product! My box of love is all done! It contained 109 reasons why I love my husband and 109 pieces of his favorite candy, KitKats. This was super fun to create and I loved coming up with all the different reasons why I love my husband. I know when he gets this in the mail, it will be a double fun treat for him, because he will 1. Get to enjoy his favorite candy, and 2. Read about why I love him so much!
This box of love is very customizable so go ahead and make one for someone special in your life. I bet they would enjoy the treats and loves notes!
Has anyone done any fun projects lately?

Caroline

My husband's all time favorite candy is KitKats, so naturally I chose KitKats as his candy of choice. I bought two bags worth for a total of 110 pieces of candy. Now that is the great thing about this project is that you can customize it to how many "pieces of love" you want! You could do as little or as much as you would like!

Since I was sending this to my husband in the mail, I just used a plain old box that I could mail, but if you don't have to mail it, you could get a fun container to put all your pieces of love in!

It is quite impressive that you were able to come up with 109 things to write down! This is such a sweet idea! Good to know that you love his "little monkey dance!"
